Vintage Wicker

16 comments:
This is a lovely old wicker chair...a bit wobbly and missing a few details but I love her!
The patina is so interesting and unlike anything that could be reproduced
This is what is so wonderful about  vintage wicker
The flakey red with old paint splatters.
The charm and character of something really old.
It  has a story to tell.

The wonderful rough and leathery spots.
Sometimes it looks grey, sometimes  pink and sometimes red

Years of sunshine and use...
On this wonderful chair we are using a mix of vintage fabric for our cushions
A linen floral with a natural background and bits of sage and grey
The seat will be this wonderful old grain sack
 circa 1910
It should be all finished this week
Can't wait to see how she looks in her new cushions!

Happy Monday

  5. I love the lines of that chair. A lot of wicker furniture has a lot of curves but I love how linear this one is. I think it's much more masculine. I've been looking for one just like that.

  7. There's nothing quite like vintage wicker. They truly "tell a story". My favorite chair finally gave up...broke beyond repair. It was so sad to let it go... Looking forward to seeing the cushions on your lovely...

  9. Love your wicker chair!;) 5 years ago I found two shabby chippy white wicker antique rocking chairs with the original thick cushions ans spring seats at a thriftshop for only $1.99 a piece, but that was before I was into the chippy shabby style that I now LOVE and I sold them for $50 a piece at my garage sale... :( I regret it to this day!!!lol..oh well..lesson learned~ Hugs,Rachel

  14. Hi Kelley,

Dragging my feet leaving a comment here!!! The grey wicker chair is gorgeous. It has beautiful lines, and there's no doubt you can't fake the patina. The cushion choice will look fabulous too. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Hope you and your family are well.

    Take care
