These cute little round fluffy purple things are an Allium
These were planted as bulbs about 5 months ago and have now have started to appear everywhere
I completely forgot where they got stashed in the yard
during bulb planting season
But surprise.....they are really tall and peek out over the tops of the other shrubs in the beds
I love how they look paired with the branches of the
chartreuse smoke tree branches
Since this house does not really have an entrance that makes a statement....you literally walk right in to the living room from the front door
I like to always have something from the garden displayed
on this wonderful old scrubbed pine table
The branches are really unique
and last a long time in a vase
I like the simplicity of the green vase too
Even with out a formal entry...it's not all that hard to find a little spot that shows off unique things that you may be collecting
Where is your special spot?
I would love to hear your ideas.....
~Cheers~

Love those Alliums paired with the Cotinus and the fact that you have used a huge cutting of the smoke bush is fabulous.

Oh I love your arrangement. I really miss my smoke bush.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Paul and Kelly....did I get the plants right?
ReplyDeleteIt really is hard to keep track of everything, especially the bulbs!
I love the smoke bush too...a favorite in the garden all summer long!
Now if I can just get the critters to quit eating my apples I will be a happy camper!
Happy Gardening

I'm going to snip some branches right now... thanks for the gorgeous inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love the alliums! what a treat to have them pop up everywhere! I have a purple smoke tree which is only two years old, love it and love the good idea about putting cuttings of it in a vase, never had thought of that! Since people always seem to come in through our back kitchen door I guess I mostly try to display arrangements on the kitchen table.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful arrangement....but let's just talk about the VERY cute pair of lamps of the toaster/colander combo!! I know you have posted before about them but just soooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteKelley, I am like you in that I love to bring nature inside. I have a few areas I display flowers, greenery etc. My porch, bathroom, kitchen counter, kitchen table. I feel my home is not dressed properly unless I have flowers!!
ReplyDeleteLove your beautiful combination,

Amazing blog. Indoor plants gives fresh air and contributes to cooling of room temperature.
ReplyDeleteWhat a welcoming entry spot! Love the alium flower...perfect!
ReplyDeleteLove the entry. I've not grown those before, maybe now will shake a leg. Love your little toaster/colander lamps! (p.s. did you hear Martha tell that story about kids coming to her estate and picking all her alliums? I think of it every time I see them.)
ReplyDeleteLove the "entry" table with the allium and branches. So simple, yet elegant. It definitely says "welcome." ~Delores
ReplyDeleteI love that green vase. Where did you get it? I want one.
ReplyDeleteReally impressed! Everything is very open and very clear explanation of issues. It contains truly information. Your website is very useful.ABCya Math games || y8y8y8 ||friv 5 games
