Ojai Master Bathroom: Tile work and details

19 comments:
I promised not to show you these again,
so I will give you a link here and here for the prior posts...just in case you missed them!

One detail I forgot to mention.... there are these skylight tube thingy's in the ceiling.
They actually do let some light in but are always full of bugs,
which is why I don't think these are very practical.
It's like a scene from Spiderman.
This was day one of the demo...needless to say the guy I hired lasted about 3 days before we had to say "adios" mister!
Just wasn't gonna work out
But I have a new "posse" on board and we are getting along just fine.

So here are the elements again that we are using:

I realize that these all seem really modern but I will be adding a few vintage touches to cozy things up.
It's all about the details, right?

We are moving right along with the tile work.
The Carrera mosaic will be for the floor.

There is also some Carrera trim details, but it actually a pretty simple layout.

The white wall tile is just your basic Dal subway tile from Home Depot...love that stuff!
I still don't have a door yet either.
It was a special order item that will be in next week.
But the most important item on my list is this:

Can't wait to take a big soak in the new tub...yea!

Final post on the bath
coming soon!

  1. Love the tile! Did you get the Renssalear lights? I love those but I just can't copy you if you have them? Can I?

Why is there a header in the wall behind the tub? Maybe there was just a shower at one time? It looks like there used to be a door or window there.

  3. Oh, I don't think it looks too modern. I think you chose some very beautiful, very classic fixtures with a little modern/industrial thrown in. The bathtub is my favorite, although I do really love the marble!

  10. I agree with folks above that it isn't too modern. It is more like "updated classic"
Can't wait to see the finished project.

  11. I love all your choices, your bathroom will be like a spa. When I remodeled the cottage I also installed marble and the same fabulous tubby. It doesn't look modern at all once it's all put together. Just clean, and classic, with lots of beachy touches. Come on over and see my tub - I do lots of posts on it. It's my favorite thing in the house!

  18. Sliced pebble tile is authentic with its shiny attribute that enhances visibility of the colour of pebble stones. Some are treated with high gloss sealer to protect it and bring out the colours. Flat shapes or sizes may be huddled according to your choice. The pebble tiles better shininess creates artistic sense to your walling and flooring of living rooms, kitchens, bathroom and showers and even to your tubs, spas and swimming pool. It makes a fascinating home, office or leisure areas or surfaces, designed according to the choice and demand of clients especially on leisure amnesties as pools and spas.
