Barn doors in the Kitchen

26 comments:
New kitchen design up date!!!

These are the new/old barn doors for the kitchen in our little Ojai house
You may recall a project that I did earlier using this really great reclaimed wood from an old barn...still in it's red paint

This is a custom cabinet that hides the TV and other electronics

I really wanted to incorporated this wood in some way into
the kitchen remodel

We ended up using it for these doors
going from the kitchen into the mudroom
hung on raw steel carriage door hardware
I found some great vintage pulls in red and added those

But I wanted  to add a little "something" more to these doors too so I screwed some wrought iron hooks and the top
to hang some herbs on ?....well maybe not
How about these great old barn pulley's

These definitely add a little more country charm

Barn doors with barn pulley's

a match made in heaven!

~Cheers to a great week~

  7. Just when I thought you couldn't possibly top the other barn doors you did, you go and do something like this....and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!! I LOVE IT!!! I would love to do this in my house, but I have no wall space to roll a door onto. I will have to live vicariously through your site to settle my nerves on this one.

  16. This isn't quite clear to me... did you use barn wood left over from your previous project - OR - did you dismantle your other doors for these new doors?

  19. The barn wood used on the doors was extra wood that I purchsed thiking I would use some in another spot...like the kitchen. The hardware can be purchased from The Real Carriage Door Co and starts at around $400 for a set.

I keep waiting for Mr Ed to pop out every time I open these!
